Why UV Printing?

UV printing is a newer form of digital printing that utilizes UV light to cure the ink. As the ink is applied a UV lamp follows behind and instantly dries the ink.

This produces a consistent high-quality finish and an unmistakable product.

What is a Print Pass?

A print pass is simply the passing of the print head across the media as it sprays ink in micro jets to create the desired image. The amount of passes is directly related to the resolution desired. More passes mean more ink creating higher image quality.

What Inks?

We exclusively use Roland Eco-UV 5 GreenGuard Certified Inks.

This is an expanded range of UV inks we use including CMYK plus Red, Orange, and White which allows us to achieve rich hues, true tones, and an unparalleled color gamut. We use Roland UV Gloss for all our Gloss and Embossing applications.

What is Gloss?

A UV-Gloss layer can help your printed materials stand out. In addition to giving your media more texture UV Gloss also sharpens colors and helps prints come to life.

What is Spot Gloss?

Our UV-Ink has a matte finish and the UV-Gloss can be applied to the whole surface or in certain spots to enhance and bring attention to specific areas. The contrast between matte with spot gloss allows for a vast combination of effects.

What is Embossing/Debossing?

Through the application of multiple layers of UV-Gloss from 4 to 7 layers we can achieve effects like embossing resulting in a design that’s raised up from the media or debossing which simulates textures stamped down or recessed.

This creates dramatic effects, one-of-a-kind products, and it is our highest gloss option.

What file type do we require?

We are able to print most file types such as PDF, PSD, PNG, JPEG, AI, SVG, and TIFF. For the Embossing/Debossing or Spot Gloss Effects, we require artwork that was created in Adobe Illustrator and is separated into layers.

Why do we charge setup fees?

In order for us to ensure the highest level of service and to create quality products we have a system of checks and rigorous control standards. This means that every file is handled by our staff to ensure accurate sizes, prints, and cuts. There are many aspects to achieving the quality that we are known for and these fees mean the work is done to the highest caliber.
